Message	I assume you mean on the edge where it rests on the crossmember. Jacking on the edge with the plastic part could cut the plastic and it could scratch or deform the stainless. but by design the shield is supported along the edge. A little common sense will suggest that you should not apply pressure to either part in an unsupported area. KK
